چکیده
Objective To explore the advantages of dosimetry and treatment efficiency tangent-arc technology in deep inspiration breath-hold radiotherapy for breast cancer. Methods Forty patients with left-sided cancer who were treated our hospital from May 2020 to June 2021 randomly selected divided into two groups. The first group’s plan was a continuous semi-arc that started at 145° ( ± 5°) stopped 325° 5°). other plan, defined as had arcs: arc 85° 5°), second 25° We compared target dose, dose organs risk (OARs), time between Results similar semiarc V 5 right lung significantly different groups (Dif 5.52, 95% confidence interval 1.92-9.13, t =3.10, P =0.004), having values (9.16 1.62)%, (3.64 0.73)%, respectively. maximum spinal cord (1835.88 222.17) cGy group (599.42 153.91) group, yielding significant difference 1236.46, 689.32-1783.6, =4.57, <0.001). times (311.70 60.45) s (254.66 40.73) there mean number 57.04, 24.05-90.03, =3.5, =0.001). Conclusion Both plans met clinical prescription requirements. OARs received less radiation than especially (measured ) dose). Tangent-arc took semi-arc, which can greatly improve efficiency. Therefore, are superior all cases.

Introduction: The rate of cardiac diseases have increased among patients who underwent radiotherapy for left-sided breast cancer. The study’s aim was evaluate the dose to organs at risk in free-breathing 3-dimensional conformal (FB-3DCRT) against 3-dimensional conformal deep inspiration breath-hold (3DCRT-DIBH) in patients with left-sided breast cancer. Ma...

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility of deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH) based volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for locally advanced left sided breast cancer patients undergoing radical mastectomy. DIBH immobilizes the tumor bed providing dosimetric benefits over free breathing (FB). MATERIALS AND METHODS Ten left sided post mastectomy patients were imm...
متن کاملDosimetric effect due to the motion during deep inspiration breath hold for left‐sided breast cancer radiotherapy
Deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH) radiotherapy for left-sided breast cancer can reduce cardiac exposure and internal motion. We modified our in-house treatment planning system (TPS) to retrospectively analyze breath-hold motion log files to calculate the dosimetric effect of the motion during breath hold. Thirty left-sided supine DIBH breast patients treated using AlignRT were studied. Breath...
متن کاملCardiac Dose Reduction with Deep-Inspiratory Breath Hold Technique of Radiotherapy for Left-Sided Breast Cancer
INTRODUCTION Different techniques of radiation therapy have been studied to reduce the cardiac dose in left breast cancer. AIM In this prospective dosimetric study, the doses to heart as well as other organs at risk (OAR) were compared between free-breathing (FB) and deep inspiratory breath hold (DIBH) techniques in intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and opposed-tangent three-dimensional...

BACKGROUND Investigating reproducibility and instability of deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) in the prone position to reduce heart dose for left-sided whole breast irradiation. METHODS Thirty patients were included and underwent 2 prone DIBH CT-scans during simulation. Overlap indices were calculated for the ipsilateral breast, heart and lungs to evaluate the anatomical reproducibility of ...
